Rumour has it Andy Garvey and DJ Scorpion were unexpectedly called up to play at this year’s edition of Solstice, the feted Finnish festival, while simply attending. All the more impressive that they were able to turn out such a fantastic, fluid showing. The two celebrated DJs showed up at Inner Varnika earlier in the year for a raucous, no-hold-barred psytrance exhibition, however the first hour of this mix is more insular, navigating through deep techno at a more measured tempo. By the halfway point, the psy creeps back and the mix expands into something more playful, dreamy, occasionally wubby. A little jungle apéritif to cap it all off, too.
